A bit more about myself

Originally from Colombia, I moved to Canada in 2021 at 19 to launch my journalism career. After completing a three-year journalism diploma at Mohawk College—where I also covered collegiate sports—I began reporting on local councils across Halton and Muskoka for Metroland Media Group as a freelance reporter.

My early work led to a role as a full-time Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) reporter covering Huntsville and Lake of Bays. In March 2024, I stepped into my current role as a full-time reporter for the Parry Sound area.

Although Spanish is my native language, I work in an English-speaking environment and hold an advanced proficiency certification in French through the TCF, an official language test.

Fully fluent in three languages, I bring a multicultural perspective to storytelling and a strong passion for civic reporting and municipal accountability.
